Pupils and staff to complete three peaks challenge

The group, pictured above, accompanied by two mountain leaders, will climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and finally Snowdon in Wales, travelling the 469 miles between them on Friday, September 7.
Ten of the 24 hours will be spent travelling between the mountains.
The event has been organised by students Thomas Barry and Jessica Ransom, both aged 17, who aim to raise £2,500 for Newbury and District Cancer Care and the Devon Donkey Sanctuary.
Thomas said: “By choosing small but hugely impactful charities our money will benefit immediately rather than being lost as part of administration fees.”
Also taking part are pupils Gareth Atkins, Jodie Brooks, Luke Butler, Jonathan Buxey, Leanne Copeland, Robbie Dance, Jack Gould, Hannah Jackson, Abby King, Jake Knight, Marcus Oades, Jacob Scholl, Daniel Smith, Aiden Ward, all aged 17.
Teachers Nick Awbery, Ruth Crossley, Jerry Cookson, Brendan Hanlon, James Polansky and Yvonne Pape are also embarking on the challenge.
Ollie Holman and Ian Lowe, both mountain leaders, will accompany the team for the duration of their journey with Gavin Raw and Karl Thompson, teachers at the school, volunteering to drive the group between their climbs.
