Hungerford pupils enjoy free 'school' meals

MORE than 50 Hungerford school pupils enjoyed a free meal during the Easter break thanks to a charitable scheme.

The initiative was created by father and daughter team Colin and Reese Hewer (pictured), proprietors of the recently-opened Terrace View Cafe in Charnham Park.

Hungerford Printing Company donated the vouchers and the overall cost of the initiative will be shared equally between the Terrace Cafe and Herongate Fitness & Wellbeing (formerly Herongate Leisure).

Chairman of the trustees at fitness and wellbeing centre, Geordie Taylor, said: "Colin's generous offer is more than worthy of our support and [the centre] is happy to share the costs.

"Credit should also go to [Hungerford Primary School deputy headteacher] Jane Butler and Zoe Hopkins of John O'Gaunt School, who administered the distribution of the vouchers to their pupils.

"Well done and thank you to all involved."
