Purley man parachutes his way to £800
Gareth Evans completed a 13,000 ft parachute jump recently to raise funds for Epilepsy Action
A PURLEY-ON-THAMES man has so far raised just over £800 for charity following a parachute jump in April.
Gareth Evans, aged 39, completed the 13,000ft jump at Hinton Airfield to raise funds for Epilepsy Action, a charity which aims to improve peoples understanding and attitudes towards epilepsy.
He chose that charity as his eight-year-old son, Morgan Evans, was diagnosed with the condition last year and he also has several family members and friends who suffer from the condition.
He said that the charity was very helpful when Morgan was first diagnosed.
He added: "It was great but a bit scary.
"I've wanted to do a jump for years so this was a great excuse.
"It was excellent, I must do it again."
Mr Evans is hoping to raise about £1,000 and people can still donate money by clicking on the link below.
