Racing driver sets Vodafone cyclists off to flying start

Button was at the starting line to wave off more than 300 cyclists facing a 300-mile pedal-slog to the finish line in Manchester.
The ride is part of Vodafone’s Big Bike Challenge, which aims to raise funds via the company’s JustTextGiving service, part of the Employee £100 Challenge, open to all Vodafone employees.
Each Vodafone staff member who raises £100 by text, for a charity of their choice, will have that amount matched by the Vodafone Foundation.
According to Libby Pritchard, who is head of corporate reputation and responsibility, said: “The sky is the limit on the amount that will be raised in total.”
Last year Vodafone staff across the country raised £280,000 for some 630 charities countrywide through the employer-led scheme.
