Raiders hit bookies

The incident happened at Corals in Monument Close, Wash Common and debris was still visible by 9am today (Wednesday).
A staff member at nearby Budgens store said: “There’s a bit of a mess - the door has been wrenched off.”
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police, James Williams, appealed for information and said:
"Three offenders used a vehicle to damage the entrance to Coral Racing in Monument Close at about 1am this morning (Wednesday).
"The offenders then stole a safe and fled the scene in the vehicle along Essex Street, towards Wash Common."
Witnesses have described the offenders as wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
The vehicle is described as a white or grey van, possibly a Vauxhall.
Investigating officer, Sgt Warren Craik of Newbury-based CID, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 101. I am particularly appealing to anyone who saw a white or grey van in the area during the early hours of this morning to come forward.
“If you don't feel comfortable speaking to police then you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
By mid morning the area was taped off as police forensic tests were conducted. The front door, which had been wrenched from its hinges, remained in the car park.
Corals declined to comment.
