Rail bridge strike causes chaos

The incident happened in the High Street around 12.20pm.
Martin Bakker from Martin and the Magpie florists said: “We heard the noise and looked out to see a lorry with a trailer carrying a digger had hit the bridge.”
No one was hurt in the incident but a spokesman for First Great Western, James Davis, said at 1.45pm: “All lines are currently blocked while we investigate.”
Network Rail spokeswoman Sam Kelly said initially: “We don’t know yet if the bridge has been damaged and an examination is taking place. This is causing delays.”
She added later: "Normal working was resumed at 1.51pm. There was no damage to the structure, only some scrape marks."
