Rail chaos due to cancelled trains

First Great Western has cancelled 25 trains today (Wednesday) and other services are expected to be affected until April 8.
The cancellations include services to Oxford and London Paddington.
The news comes on top of cancelled services yesterday and already altered services, which began on Good Friday, while Network Rail carried out maintenance work at Reading Station as part of an £895 million upgrade.
A statement from First Great Western said: "We worked hard with Network Rail to minimise the delays, but it quickly became clear that the number of trains we were trying to operate through the area was affecting our ability to get our services back on track."
"Having re-looked at our plans with Network Rail and other train operating companies yesterday afternoon, we have revised our special timetable for the remainder of the week."
