Rail users face delays and cancellations over Christmas





Between December 27 and January 2, First Great Western trains between London Paddington and Taunton / Penzance via Newbury will be affected.
Services which usually run between London Paddington and the West of England (via Newbury) will be diverted via Swindon and not call at Newbury or Pewsey, with most of them calling additionally at Swindon.
Replacement buses will be in place between Swindon and Pewsey, with journey times being extended by up to 60 minutes.
As usual, there will be no train services on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
The First Great Western timetable over Christmas is as follows:
Christmas Eve - Normal midweek service with an early close subject to engineering work
Christmas Day - No service
Boxing Day - No service
Saturday 27 December - Amended Saturday service subject to engineering work
Sunday 28 December - Amended Sunday service subject to engineering work
Monday 29 December - Amended midweek service subject to engineering work
Tuesday 30 December - Amended midweek service subject to engineering work
New Years Eve - Amended midweek service with an early close subject to engineering work
New Years Day - Amended midweek service subject to engineering work. Additional early morning services will run in the early hours of New Years Day
Friday 2 January - Normal midweek service subject to engineering work
