Rain is still here - but plenty to do today (Sun)

THE torrential weather might show no signs of letting up - but there is still plenty to do in the region today.
The conditions have not affected the impressive range of snowdrops at Welford Park - which are on display to visitors once again.
The ground is saturated but the river has not burst its banks and the paths around the grounds are fine. The access road in and out are also fine. Visitors are asked to ensure they have suitable clothing and footwear for the current weather conditions.
This sight is enjoyed by thousands of visitors throughout the winter months. Over many years and generations, it has been tradition to open the grounds during February so that this spectacle can be viewed by all who want to see it.
After a bracing walk many retire to the Old Laundry Tea Rooms to partake of a light lunch or homemade cake and a pot of tea and take a wander around the Snowdrops Gift Shop.
At the Inkpen village market, there will be lots of regular food stalls with locally grown and produced meat, pies and cakes, plus plenty of good 'in season' Inkpen grown 'no spray' fruit and vegetables.
Also on offer will be fish pate, jams, pickles and chutneys, honey from Inkpen and Kintbury bees, plants, cards and notelets and homemade dog biscuits. And there are always some different 'visiting' stalls to inspire.
If music is more your thing, head over to an afternoon concert at AWE William Penney Theatre, Aldermaston Concert Centre, from 3pm for a variety of live music spanning all decades.
