Rare items stolen from Newbury home

Police are appealing for witnesses after a variety of unusual items were stolen from a house off of Boundary Road

STOLEN goods from a Newbury home, including a rare Mexican dagger, are feared to be for sale on the black market.

Police have urged anyone who is offered any unusual items for purchase to contact them, as the goods may have been stolen during a house burglary off Boundary Road sometime between 3pm on Sunday (November 20) and 3pm on Monday (November 21).

The burglars had forced open a locked kitchen window to enter the house and made off with the obsidian Mexican dagger (black and made from volcanic glass), a Royal Doulton figure of a lady, four Royal Doulton Beatrix Potter figures, and two silver decanter labels.

The lower panel of the front door was also kicked through to exit the house, which is adjacent to Newbury Racecourse.

Thames Valley Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and officers are keen to speak to anyone who has been offered these unusual items to buy.
