Record entries for this years' Newbury Carnival
A flypast of Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster bomber, alongside Spitfire and Hurricane fighter planes, will coincide with the theme of ‘travels in time – past, present and future’ which has captured the imagination of entrants.
Carnival chairman Bryan Harper said: ‘It’s a brilliant response and we still welcome more entries from across the whole community. It’s free to enter the carnival parade. It’s great fun, and a great way to get your name in front of the thousands of spectators who line the route.”
The parade will take place on July 14, setting off from Pound Street and winding through the town centre to Victoria Park, where a fete and a funfair will keep the crowds entertained.
