Recycle your Christmas tree
West Berkshire Council urges recycling Christmas trees after twelfth night
WEST Berkshire residents are reminded to put their real Christmas trees to good use after twelfth night tomorrow (Thursday), by recycling them.
Christmas trees can be recycled at one of the district's recycling centres, or by using the kerbside recycling scheme.
The council's executive councillor for the Environment, Hilary Cole, (Con Chieveley) said: “We're pleased that residents can enjoy the convenience of being able to recycle their old Christmas trees both at the kerbside and at the district's recycling facilities.
"Additional items such as broken Christmas tree lights can be taken for recycling too."
The new recycling centre along Padworth Lane, Lower Padworth is open Monday to Friday 12.30pm to 6pm and weekends/bank holidays 8am to 6pm.
The Newtown Road recycling centre is also open every day of the week, from 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Garden waste bins will be collected from the kerbside on the same day as recycling, for small and cut-up pieces of Christmas trees.
