Red kite's photo shoot for passing motorist in Newbury
These beautiful images were captured by Bev Hiller earlier this week, just outside of Newbury.
Bev Hiller and husband Bob were travelling along the Wantage Road, close to Snelsmore Common, when this red kite swooped down in front of them.
They pulled over to give Mrs Hiller the chance to get these stunning photos of the bird as it attempted to pick up some roadkill.
Mr Hiller recently bought his wife a Canon Eos R6 and lens for her birthday and the obliging bird of prey proved to be the perfect model to try out the new camera.
Mrs Hiller said it was “stunning to watch” and she hadn’t realised just how large a red kite's wing span really was until she saw it up close.
As the road was getting busier the bird didn’t manage to make off with its dinner, but Mrs Hiller said she came away happy – with about 150 photos of the bird too.
