Plans resubmitted to turn house into therapy clinic in Chapel Street, Thatcham
A proposal to turn a house in Thatcham into a one-bedroom flat and consulting rooms for a counselling service has been resubmitted.
The proposal, by STATS (Hampshire) Limited, seeks permission to add the ground floor flat in 55 Chapel Street, with six consulting rooms for six full-time staff working from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
The main difference between this application and the previous refused application, which the applicant appealed, is the current is car free for the consulting rooms, with the exception of one disabled space. The cycle stands have been retained.
But West Berkshire Council’s Highways department echoed the Planning Inspector’s comments.
It stated while the car-free development would reduce the use of the access on the A4, it would result in additional off-site parking on nearby streets.
WBC is due to decide on the application by Friday, May 30.
