Burys Bank Road will be closed from its junction with Crookham Hill, down to the junction with New Road.

It will be shut on Thursday (December 5), from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

Residents will be allowed access, as will emergency services.

The diversion route will add more than 5.5 miles (9km) and will take motorists along Crookham Hill, down Thornford Road and along the A339, Newtown Road and Pinchington Lane.

The work is being undertaken on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
