Rescue crews save cows trapped in river




Two cows trapped in a river have been saved by emergency services.

Two fire and rescue crews from Newbury Fire Station were sent to a location along Brimpton Road in Midgham on Friday morning (June 6), where they were joined by the Animal Rescue Unit from Caversham Road Fire Station.

They found two cows on their arrival. One had managed to exit the water by itself.

But the other had to be supported by the crews.

Both cows were safely placed in the care of farmers.

Crews were on scene for approximately 28 minutes.
