Resident peace promoter to talk of Gaza conflict at St Nic's tomorrow (Sun)
Salim Munyer, an Israeli–Palestinian man who lives in Jerusalam, runs a youth reconciliation programme Musalahah, which holds campaigns and youth conferences, to try to promote peace between Palestinian and Israeli groups, who are currently at the centre of the violent conflict.
A friend of St Nicolas’ staff Jane Sutton, Mr Munyer has agreed to speak to the congregation ahead of the service at 10am, following which there will be a chance for people to meet him and ask questions.
Miss Sutton said: “He knows both sides of the argument very well. In the current situation his work is even more important.
“Newbury should know about what’s going on from someone out there."
