Reading Magistrates’ Court: Restraining order for Newbury woman who emailed victim’s boss
A WOMAN has been convicted of harassing a man at his workplace by emailing his boss.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 9, was Jeanette North.
The 25-year-old, of Kingsbridge Road, Newbury, initially denied harassing Kieran Osborne by sending emails to his place of work, to his boss and by sending letters to his home.
The harassment continued from June 14 to June 26 last year.
Despite her initial denial, Ms North changed her plea before trial and admitted the offence.
An offence of theft was dismissed when the prosecution offered no evidence.
Ms North has previous convictions for offences including criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon, although the harassment offence pre-dates those.
Ms North was made subject to a 12-month conditional discharge and made subject to a restraining order forbidding her from contacting her victim, either directly or indirectly.
the order lasts for two years.
No order for costs was made but Ms North was required to pay a statutory victim services surcharge of £26.
