Restraining order for violent Newbury man




A MAN has been made subject to a restraining order after being convicted of a domestic violence attack.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 16, was Noel Stephen Slattery.

The 47-year-old, who lives at The Folly, Newbury, had denied assaulting Valerie Slattery at an address in Burys Bank Road, Greenham, on Thursday, March 4.

However, he was convicted following a trial.

Mr Slattery was fined £400, ordered to pay £625 costs, plus a victim services surcharge of £40 and was made subject to a restraining order.

The 12-month order forbids Mr Slattery from contacting his victim, either directly or indirectly, or from going to or near a specified home in Burys Bank Road.
