RetroFest returning with another huge vintage fair at Newbury Showground
RetroFestival is returning for another year at Newbury Showground in aid of charity.
This year’s festival will be held on August 9, 10 and 11 — and is being billed as the biggest and best yet.
The festival is a celebration of all things vintage, dating from the 1920s right through to the 1980s.
The showground is expected to be crammed with family-friendly attractions and displays featuring more than 1,000 classic cars, motorbikes, scooters, caravans, hot rods, military vehicles, steam engines, American RVs, Airstream caravans and Teardrops.
Many of the steam engines will also be providing rides for visitors.
There will also be more than 200 vintage stalls — the largest collection in the UK — where visitors can buy anything from clothes, furniture, car parts to games.
And children and adults can also spend hours at the largest vintage steam fairground in the UK.
More than 50 live bands and DJs will be playing in the three marquees over the weekend.
The Black Hangar Stage is focused on all things Rock n Roll and Rockabilly, while the Ricky Tick Marquee is all things MOD, Northern Soul and SKA from the 60s and 80s.
And in the Spitfire Pavilion visitors will be transported back to the 20s and 30s where Swing and Jive ruled.
Evening entertainment for adults will be provided within all the marquees until 11pm.
Dressing up is welcomed.
Guests are welcome to camp in the designated area where electricity, showers and toilets are available.
Opening times are Friday (6pm to 11pm), Saturday (10am to 11pm) and Sunday (10am to 10pm).
Visit www.retrofestival.co.uk to buy tickets or pay on the gate. Pre-booking is advised,
Over the past 10 years, the festival has raised more than £600,000 for charities through t-shirt sales, show guides and donations.
This year, it has bought 12 puppies to support the Guide Dog Association.
