Retrospective application in for stable access works
Work to improve access to Mabberleys Stables in East Garston was carried out without the necessary planning permission.
Now a restrospective application has been submitted to planners.
A document accompanying the application states: “The site itself was recently granted approval for the conversion of a number of existing boxes...this included the use of the central courtyard for parking.
“During the course of the application for the change of use, the owners proceeded with works to upgrade the current field access and track to provide an alternative and more accessible service route from the site.”
It goes on to acknowledge that West Berkshire Council planners have ruled that the works to the track are a seperate engineering operation which requires formal planning approval.
The applicants state: “This retrospective application covers work undertaken and completed to upgrade the current access from Newbury Road to the stables and stable yard.
“Although no formal consultations have been held with the local parish, our clients are aware of concerns in regard to the potential increase in traffic and have undertaken the work to date in the belief that this will mitigate and limit any potential issues moving forward.”
The application can be viewed in full, and commented on, by visiting the planning section of West Berkshire Council’s website and using the reference 23/01221/FUL.
