Revised bus services in and around Newbury

Changes effective from today

BUS services in and around Newbury are subject to change from today (Monday).

Revised routes will be provided under contract to the council by Kennections, owned by Reading Buses, linking Newbury with destinations including Greenham, Wash Common, Park House School, Kintbury, Inkpen, Hungerford, Lambourn, Hermitage, Hampstead Norreys, Compton, East and West Ilsley, Thatcham via London Road and West Berks Community Hospital.

Rural routes will be served by three new minibuses, purchased using transitional funding provided by the Government.

The minibuses will continue public transport services to communities that would have been more severely affected by the council’s budget reductions this year.

They include:

Service 40 (replaces 101/104) – linking Calcot estate with Calcot Sainsbury’s

Service 41 (replaces 101) – links to Cold Ash, Upper Bucklebury and Chapel Row

Service 44 (replaces 104) – connecting Crookham, Brimpton and Aldermaston with Thatcham, Tadley or Calcot

Service 5a (replaces 107) – linking Chaddleworth, Brightwalton, Peasemore and Beedon with Newbury

Service 47 (replaces 90) – linking Lambourn to the Great Western Hospital and Swindon
