Ribbon cut on new mobility and stairlift store Ableworld on A4, Bath Road in Thatcham




A new mobility and stairlift store has officially opened in Thatcham.

A short ceremony was held on March 16 to mark the opening of Ableworld on the A4, Bath Road

Mayor of Thatcham Jeff Brooks cut the ribbon on the company’s 39th unit.

Mr Brooks said: “I am impressed with the sheer range of goods they have got there, not just to help elderly folk but for people with other health needs.

“It is really nice to have this facility in Thatcham, it is a well-established business and it is refreshing.

“It sends a message, Thatcham is open to businesses.”

The 2,500 square foot unit stocks its full range of mobility products, including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, walkers and their extensive range of riser recliner chairs.

The store will also have a stairlift demonstration area, with the company employing a stairlift engineer to install and service stairlifts local to the Thatcham area.

Marketing manager Rhian Pita said: “We are absolutely honoured to be welcomed into the Thatcham community as quickly as we have been.”
