River Pang put on flood alert
The Environment Agency has said this evening (Wednesday) that the river level is rising and that there is a possibility of flooding in low lying areas along the rivers path.
However, no property flooding is currently expected.
The area put on alert stretches from East Ilsley through Compton, Hampstead Norreys, Frilsham, Bucklebury, Standford Dingley, Bradfield and Tidmarsh.
The alert also covers Sulham Brook from Theale to Pangbourne.
Forecasters are predicting that the rain will continue into the early hours of tomorrow (Thursday) morning.
The rain is expected to ease off tomorrow morning but is set return to batter the district in the evening.
No warnings have so far been issued for the River Kennet, River Lambourn, River Enborne or the Kennet and Avon Canal.
