Lower Way in Thatcham closed for gas and electric works
UPDATE: April 26, 4.25pm - The closure on Lower Way, which was due to be lifted today (Friday), has now been extended.
West Berkshire Council has confirmed this afternoon that it is now expected to reopen at 5pm tomorrow (Saturday).
The extension is to allow for “the reinstatement to cure”.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” it added.
April 15: Lower Way in Thatcham is closed for gas and electric works.
The road closed this morning (Monday) between its junctions with Glebelands and its junction with Paynesdown Road.
It will be closed until April 26.
The alternative route is via Lower Way, Pound Lane, A4 Bath Road, A4 Chapel Street, The Moors, Lower Way and vice versa.
Residential access is maintained throughout and the diversion is signed on site.
Blue light access is not permitted.

One Network has said that the purpose of this closure is to enable the installation of new gas and electric connections.
