Road named after popular face in Lambourn

The homes in the newly designated Bodman Close are built on land where his family coal yard once prospered.
Mr Bodman, who was born in the house in which he still lives, ran the fuel business LJ Bodman and Sons with his brother Louis.
The name Bodman became inextricably linked with Lambourn station, where they had an office..
Sadly Mr Louis Bodman died in 2003.
Lambourn resident Liz Beard said: “It’s a fitting tribute to one of Lambourn’s much loved and respected gentlemen.
“So many residents in the village are delighted to see that George’s name was used for the new houses.
“He is now is in his 80s and is a well-known figure in the village - everyone knows George, or knows of him, and he always greets everyone with a touch of his hat and a cheery good morning.”
