Newbury drink-driver Heidi Rackham banned from the roads




A WOMAN was caught behind the wheel after drinking more than twice the legal limit.

Heidi Rackham appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 26.

The 58-year-old, of Valley Road, Newbury, admitted driving a Volkswagen Tiguan on Winchcombe Road in Newbury on Thursday, September 7, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 71mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in her system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Magistrates fined Ms Rackham £323.

In addition, she was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £129.

Finally, Ms Rackham was banned from driving for 19 months.
