Motorists have experienced delays in the south of town due to roadworks in St John's Road
ROADWORKS in St John's Road in Newbury have been causing significant delays for motorists in the south of town.
Yesterday (Monday), one lane was cordoned off near the Baldev's Dental Care practice on St John's Road ahead of a scheduled repair by Thames Water to fix a leak.
Thames Water spokeswoman Natalie Slater said that most of the work was being done on the footpath to keep traffic disruption to a minimum, but the works have caused significant rush hour delays for traffic in the surrounding area, including on the Andover Road and the A339.
According to the West Berkshire Council website, the works are due to be completed tomorrow (Wednesday).
