Roadworks just keep coming along the A4

More delays could on the horizon while Southern Electric make upgrades to the underground cable network between the Thatcham sub-station and Hambridge Road.
Work will begin in the Hambridge Road area where it will cross the A4 and then include Tull Way, Old Bath Roundabout and Floral Way.
A spokesman for Southern Electric, Duncan MacDonald, said: "All of the work is being carried out in conjunction with the council's highways team, and we will be notifying all local residents of any works which we are carrying out close to their properties in advance of the work starting."
The work will take place at the same time as maintenance work is carried out on the A339 rail bridge, which has led to lane narrowing and a series of overnight closures until the project is completed in September.
