Roadworks to close A34 once more

The northbound carriageway was closed for four nights from last Monday (29) and the southbound carriageway will now be closed for four nights from tonight (Tues)
Activities including surface repairs, drainage maintenance, renewal of road markings and road studs, litter picking and vegetation clearance will take place along a 14-mile section of the road between Bullington Cross and Wash Water.
The work will be carried out between 10pm and 6am.
Highways Agency project manager, Guy Watts, said: “This work will improve journeys along this section of the A34.
“We are taking the opportunity to carry out various small schemes, all at the same time, to avoid the need for repeated separate closures.
“We’ve carefully planned the work to cause as little disruption as possible and that is why it is being carried out overnight, when traffic flows are lowest."
He added that drivers might still be affected by these closures and advised people to leave plenty of extra time for their journeys, while the essential work took place.
Traffic will be diverted via the A303, the A3093 and the A343.
