Robin McIntyre has been named as West Berkshire’s best dad!

Robin was chosen by a panel from a total of 29 entries for this year’s Newbury Weekly News Father’s Day competition, sponsored by Renegade Brewery.

He was nominated by his 10-year-old son Rory, who wrote: “Our dad is the centre of our universe.

“Our mum has a busy career so our dad took a basic job so he could be around to do make sure me (Rory) and my sister Molly are able to do our extra curricular activities.

“Our dad volunteers at our Scouts and cricket clubs and also takes me to all my football games and supported me whilst I was at Reading academy.

“Our dad always puts himself last and never complains.

“We love him so much and think he’s the best dad in the world.

“Thank you dad for everything you do!”

Robin, Rory and Molly popped along to Renegade Brewery in Yattenden, where he received his prizes from events and marketing assistant Matt Lawson.

Robin won a voucher for a meal in the taproom worth £50, plus four free beers going with the meal; a Good Old Dad gift set – three sets (beer + T-shirt); and two vouchers for a brewery tour, including two free pints, 20 per cent off in the beer shop on the day and 10 per cent off in the taproom on the day.
