Pangbourne Rotarians appoint new president from Upper Basildon at The Springs Golf Club
Pangbourne Rotary’s swears in new president.
Brian Davies, from Upper Basildon, was appointed as the club’s new president (2023-2024) at The Springs Golf Club on Thursday, June 15.
Outgoing president Saerah Hopley thanked the club for a wonderful year, which had raised £38,000 for charity thanks to the fundraising efforts of members and the general public.
Mr Davies, a retired sales and marketing executive, received his chain of office upon taking the new role.
He said he was delighted to be leading a healthy club, which supports various local, national and international charitable causes, and membership is growing.
The event was attended by some 36 members and guests including: district governor Marius Hopley, district governor elect Kate Hodges, district secretary John Smart and Reading Matins president elect Val Robinson.
Annual awards were presented to Jim Skinner (humour), Deo Bikale (service above self), Paul Sampson (bombshell moment) and Tony Eldridge (attendance).
And Rohit Tanna then announced that two members, Brian Jenkins and Tony Eldridge, had been given upgrades to their existing roles.
