Pangbourne Rotarians celebrate raising four-figure sum for charitable causes
A Rotary Club has finished its Christmas charity tour.
Pangbourne Rotary Club’s Santa Dash finished touring on December 22, before returning to the North Pole to get the presents.
The tour ended with a grand finale at Tilehurst Triangle where hundreds of people joined the church choirs and band in carol singing, eating mince pies and sipping mulled wine.
Club president Brian Davies said: “Pangbourne Rotary would like to thank everyone who helped us achieve more than 20 visits in December, as well as the generosity of the public who donated to the tune of over £8,500.
“These contributions will be used to support our donations to charity in the next few months.”
The club also expressed the joy felt by volunteers after seeing the smiling faces of children of all ages meeting Santa.
And to blow away the Christmas cobwebs, the club is holding its next fundraiser the Woodcote 10k run on January 7.
