Rotary adventure leadership skills course open to youngsters

The international Rotary Youth Leadership Award programme is aimed at 18- to 25-year-olds, from all backgrounds and experience, and offers week-long courses in the Snowdonia National Park, to develop team working, initiative, communication and problem-solving skills.
It includes adventure sports such as abseiling, navigation, canoeing, sailing and high ropes.
The next course takes place from July 20 to 27 and the Rotary Club of Newbury is sponsoring a place for one West Berkshire youngster starting out in their career.
A previous candidate said of the course: “An experience of a lifetime which I will never forget.
"I have more confidence and have learnt skills which will help me both at work and in my voluntary work.”
There is no cost to candidates as they are met by the club.
Applications must be submitted by April 30.
