Pangbourne Rotary Club celebrates successful art exhibition

Pangbourne Rotary Club's annual art exhibition was hailed a great success by organiser Clive Williams.

The exhibition saw 40 local artists sell 40 pictures with a combined value approaching £4,000, raising in excess of £1,800 for charity.

The event ran from April 14 to 16 at Pangbourne Village Hall.

It was opened on Friday, April 14, by three deputy lieutenants of Berkshire, Rohit Tanna, Carole Jackson-Doerge and Christina Hill Williams.

Innovations this year included local jewellery and clothing stalls in the small hall, light refreshments including cakes and a display of 'A Year of Pangbourne Rotary in the Press', all of which proved popular.

The Rotary Club's chosen charity for the event was Young People and Children First, which rehomes young people aged 16-25 who are leaving care or are homeless.

CEO Tracy Underwood and volunteers attended throughout the weekend to explain the work of the charity.
