Pangbourne Rotary donates £3,000 to local charities
Pangbourne Rotary Club has donated cheques worth £1,000 each to three deserving charities who help people in need.
The three recipients of the club’s fundraising are CIRDIC (Churches in Reading Drop-In Centre), Launchpad Reading and West Berkshire Homeless.
Club president Brian Davies said ‘poverty’ is one of his charity themes this year and added it was wonderful to help such deserving charities.
Mr Davies and community service leader Mal Sandham met CIRDIC manager Mabel Boyd Gregory and her volunteers, who provide meals and support to those in need.
The club’s donation is a stepping stone for the charity’s JustGiving campaign to raise £52,000 to sustain its work over the next few months.
The club’s next fundraising event is the Pangbourne Art Exhibition running from April 19 to 21 at Pangbourne Village Hall.
