Round town tour and cream tea

This year marks the 200th year anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen’s fourth novel, Emma.

The novelist is buried in Winchester Cathedral and to mark this special event, it is holding a variety of themed events over the year including, on the first Saturday of every month until November, a Jane Austen Tour and Cream Tea.

The tour will include a walk through the Cathedral’s historic Inner Close to the house on College Street where Jane and her sister Cassandra stayed during their time in Winchester.

Afterwards, a cream tea is served in the cathedral refectory. Tickets cost £10 and are available online from the Cathedral Box Office or by phone on (01962) 857 275.
