Row erupts online over play area fencing

Rival groups have been set up on Facebook over whether fencing should be installed at Victoria Park

A ROW has erupted online this week as rival groups go head-to-head over the idea of fencing around the new play area in Victoria Park, Newbury.

A group entitled ‘Toddler area in Victoria Park Newbury should be fenced in!' has been created on social networking website Facebook this week and already has more than 650 members, while a petition has been launched calling on Newbury Town Council to install fencing with more than 250 signatures collected already.

In contrast, a second group entitled ‘Keep Victoria Park a fence free area' has amassed more than 350 members, highlighting the divide among local parents.
