Royal Oak in Yattendon is named best pub in the district

Landlord Rob McGill and his team were praised for the hard work put in since taking over in November 2009.
CAMRA said the team had worked hard to overturn the pub’s reputation as a food only venue and have restored its place as a venue to pop in for a drink, to which the local community have responded positively.
The pub entered the Good Beer Guide for the first time in 2012, and was also praised for having strong links to the West Berkshire Brewery as the brewery has its roots in the village.
West Berkshire CAMRA Pubs Officer Glenn Parsons said: “The pub is a much more accessible place to eat and drink now then it has been in my memory. They have changed the feel of the pub, and placed great emphasis on quality and service”.
