Royal opening for St Bart's
The Countess of Wessex will officially open the new buildings at St Bartholomew's School next Wednesday
THE new buildings at St Bartholomew's School in Newbury are to be officially opened by the Countess of Wessex next week.
The Countess will visit the Andover Road secondary school on Wednesday (March 30), where she will unveil a plaque to mark the official opening of the school's redevelopment, which received £32m of central government money through the Building Schools for the Future programme.
During her visit, The Countess will also be given a tour of the school, where she will visit a number of lessons to witness students of all ages and abilities in the new buildings.
The whole school, staff and guests will attend the ceremony, which will also be attended by representatives from the building contractor, Willmott Dixon and architects, Scott Brownrigg.
