Runaway Rooster at Brimpton Primary School
A rogue rooster is roaming the fields of Brimpton Primary School.
The rooster, who pupils have named 'Barry', has been aimlessly wandering the school grounds for over a week now.
No one in the local community has yet come forward to claim the bird.
School staff have been leaving food and water, but say there is now little more they can do to care for him.
Adverse weather conditions and foxes both pose a serious danger. Local wildlife rescue organisations have been approached, but are unable to help.
The school is appealing to any residents missing a rooster to come forward and contact the office staff on (0118) 971 2311.
Local farmers and veterinary surgeries willing to accommodate the bird – and who think they stand a decent chance of catching him – are also invited to contact the number above.
