Runners at the ready! Bayer 10K in Newbury today

The annual race, held in association with Newbury Athletic Club, starts at 10.15am in Newbury Market Place and ends in the same place, following a route around Speen and the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Each runner will receive a timing chip, which they can attach to their ankle, giving them an accurate time at the end of the race.
At the finish they will be rewarded with a medal and a goody bag.
Last year about 850 entered the race (pictured), which was won by Thatcham man, Gareth Watkins, a member of 42 Engineer regiment who works at the Royal school of military survey, Hermitage.
