Annual Chieveley Chase charity run returned to raise money for Chieveley Primary School PTA
An annual charity run returned for a bumper year in the spring sunshine.
The Chieveley Chase in a multi-terrain 10k run that raises money for the Chieveley Primary School PTA.
And this year saw 118 entrants, up on last year’s number, and a staggering £1,509 raised for the school.

Organisers said the event “ran really smoothly” and the money will now be used to purchase Chromebooks and picnic benches for the school.
Molly, Daisy, Poppy, Ebony and Alicia – pupils from Years 1,3 and 5 – also ran a cake stall to help boost the funds.
The event, which starts and finishes at Chieveley Village Hall, was this year organised by Jason Barrow and his wife Nicki, with support from Claire and Richard Deery.
“We had a massive support from local villagers who reached out to help marshall the event,” the organisers added.
“The children’s race was a hit as usual.”
Prizes are awarded for the top three men and women, as well as to the top placed man and woman from Chieveley.
This year the first person home was Matthew Green, in 36.33 minutes. He was followed in the men’s category by Simon Waite, in 36.48 minutes, and Daniel Tuttle in 37.17 minutes.
Luci Robertson was the first woman home, in 39.38 minutes, with Rebecca Downie second in 42.29 minutes and Claire Hall third in 43.08 minutes.
The first Chieveley man to finish was Oliver Shakespeare, in 39.43 minutes, with Nerys Probert (1:11.34), the first Chieveley woman to finish.
And there were bacon butties and tea and coffee to fuel all the runners at the end – and to keep the crowds cheering throughout.
