Runners prepare for Bayer 10k and Chieveley Chase
The inaugural Chieveley Chase takes place on Saturday, and on Sunday the annual Bayer 10k is to be held, with over 800 runners expected.
The Chieveley event begins at 10am at Chieveley Village Hall, in High Street.
Late registrations are advised to arrive before 9.30am, entry is £10 and all money raised goes to Chieveley Primary School Parent and Teacher Association.
All runners will get a goodie bag and medals.
On Sunday one of the largest and most popular Newbury events returns for its fifth year; the Bayer 10k.
The race, held in association with Newbury Athletic Club, starts at 10.15am in Newbury Market Place and ends in the same place, following a route around Speen and the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Each runner will receive a timing chip, which they can attach to their ankle, giving them an accurate time at the end of the race.
At the finish they will be rewarded with a medal and a goody bag.
