Running for the canal trust
Bruce Jackson, of Padworth, has organised a fun run in aid of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust on Thursday, May 26
A WEST Berkshire runner who loves to train by the Kennet and Avon Canal is organising a fun run in aid of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.
Bruce Jackson, aged 39, of Padworth has organised the fun run for May 26 with three distances available: 5km, 2.3km and 400m.
The run will start in Mill Lane at 6.30pm and finish at the Canal Tea Rooms where a barbecue will be held for runners and spectators.
Mr Jackson said: “I have built up a network of local runners in Padworth and Aldermaston Wharf and I thought such an event would be good for the community as well as raising money for the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.
“I run a lot by the canal and I see the work that the trust do to maintain the canal.
“It will be a nice event for the community and people are welcome to come and cheer on their loved ones and then head to the Canal Tea Rooms for a barbecue.”
