The Thames Valley Police rural crime taskforce has been out on hare coursing patrols this weekend.

PC Shayler and PC Smith were out this morning (Sunday) on operation Galileo patrols, which are aimed at deterring and catching illegal hare coursers.

Yesterday PC Dollery used a drone to search a hare coursing hotspot in West Berkshire.

Thames Valley Police shared a clip from the drone footage on its Twitter account yesterday.

The force said: “The drone has been utilised to get an aerial view into rural areas we cannot see into as easily, making it much harder for suspects to remain out of view.

“Drones are one of the best tools at our disposal for gathering evidence of illegal poaching offences.”
