Safe stolen during overnight Subway break-in in Thatcham





An as yet unconfirmed amount of money was inside the safe at the time.
The offenders forced entry into the store’s front door, however the extent of damage and any other items stolen have not yet been confirmed.
The store is expected to re-open in around an hour in time for the lunchtime rush.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Connie Primmer said that they were alerted to “reports of a burglary taking place” at 2.25am.
She added: “We have got a scene watch in place and we will be investigating this morning.”
Neighbouring residents reported hearing the disturbance the store’s security alarm going off during the night.
