Another village road has been shut after it began to break up due to the recent flooding.

And there are now concerns over public safety.

Hart’s Lane, in Ufton Nervet, is currently closed between its junction with Sulhamstead Hill and its junction with Church Lane.

West Berkshire Council confirmed the closure has been put in place “because the carriageway has deteriorated due the volume of surface water and there is a safety impact”.

Drivers are being asked to find an alternative route.

A number of roads across the area remain closed following the flooding over a week ago, including in the roads through Eastbury, both sides of the River Lambourn; Two Rivers Way, Newbury; Crookham Hill, Thatcham; Station Road, Kintbury; and Wantage Road, Lambourn.
