Sales draw early birds - and even the overnighters





Some beat the rush by camping out over night and there was a queue for Camp Hopson department store reaching almost to Bridge Street by 8.55am.
Sandra Woodjetts from Newbury was among those who maintained an overnight vigil.
She was rewarded with bargains including a tote bag reduced from £239 to just £50.
Others snapped up kitchen ware and clothing.
Despite the comparative bustle, some said the town was less busy than the same time last year.
