Tonight's event called off due to 'unforeseen circumstances'

A PUBLIC consultation event on plans for up to 450 new homes at Sandleford Park has been cancelled.

The proposals were due to go on display for the first time tonight (Thursday) at Newbury Rugby Club, but the event has been called off owing to unforseen circumstances.

Newbury-based firm Donnington New Homes has drafted the plans for the section of land it owns at Sandleford Park.

Its proposal includes 450 homes, a new primary school opposite Park House School, a children’s drop-off parking facility and an indoor play facility for the Swings and Smiles charity.

Also in the plans is a 60-bed extra care facility, an access road from Warren Road and emergency access via Kendrick Road, as well as pedestrian and cycle links.

One of the developers, Bloor Homes Southern, has already submitted its two applications – a ‘masterplan’ for the entire site as well as detailed plans for the first phase of the project for 337 homes.
